Job summary

The State of South Carolina, BHDD, is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to provide crisis assessments, discharge planning support, and short-term case management at the Pickens County Clinic in Easley. The role focuses on timely access to outpatient mental health services and preventing hospitalizations during crises.

Responsibilities include on-call coverage, collaboration with community resources, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences or a related field.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in SC; if unlicensed, must pursue licensure within six months.
• Must qualify for credentialing and privileging with Office of Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency assessments of patients in crisis and on-site evaluations within 60 minutes of call receipt.
• Educate patients on community resources and coordinate transfers/referrals and crisis safety planning.
• Participate in weekly and daily treatment meetings; liaison with local community mental health centers.
• Comply with QA, Compliance, and Cultural Competence policies and attend mandatory trainings.
