Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Mechanic (Union) to support commercial service across North America. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and replacement of heating and cooling equipment, with a focus on safe, durable repairs and customer outcomes.

You will work with journeymen, apprentices, and branch teams, traveling as needed to support service activities. A valid EPA license and driver’s license are required, with potential for career development through STA

Qualifications

• UA journeyman membership or willingness to join.
• Minimum of three years of commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licensing.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 10%–20%.
• Experience with HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot HVACR equipment including rooftop units, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, and related components.
• Collaborate with journeymen on chiller and cooling system repairs.
• Identify facility inefficiencies during commissioning and aftermarket visits.
• Prepare quotes and support upselling opportunities to improve system performance.
