Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an experienced technician to repair and maintain a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks, including preventive maintenance, tires, brakes, and electrical work. The role may involve mobile diagnostics and travel to customer sites.

You will work on newer vehicles across brands, with ASE certification requirements and potential CDL considerations; on-site outdoor shop environment; strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Include preventive maintenance, oil/fluids, tires, brakes, suspension, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related work.
• Possibly travel to vehicle locations for mobile diagnostics and repairs; may drive Budget Trucks as needed.

This includes preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs based on your skill level.This role includes mobile repair responsibilities. When a truck or van experiences an issue, you may travel to the vehicle’s location to diagnose and resolve the problem efficiently, helping get the customer back on the road as quickly as possible.
