AutoNation seeks a Mobile Automotive Technician who will perform in-shop repairs and mobile service, traveling to customer locations in the San Jose area. This role blends hands-on diagnostics with customer interactions and requires a valid driver’s license and strong service orientation.

The position offers a compensation range of $30 to $50+ per flat rate hour, with merit bonuses for efficiency, plus comprehensive benefits and training opportunities across a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of recent automotive repair experience.
• Ase certifications and/or technical school preferred.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance in shop and mobile settings.
• Travel to customer locations to perform mobile repairs using company van.
• Communicate job status and diagnostics clearly to customers and advisors.
• Follow safety protocols and DOT/FMCSA regulations during mobile operations.
• Collaborate with shop technicians, dispatch, and service support teams.
