Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Support Officer to deliver flexible, security cover across multiple client locations near Portsmouth. The role requires adaptability, professional conduct, and the ability to patrol, monitor CCTV, log activities, and respond to incidents.

The ideal candidate holds a valid SIA licence, British driving licence, and is comfortable using security systems. Right to work in the UK and BS7858 vetting must be satisfied, with a professional appearance and strong

Qualifications

• Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA Licence.
• UK Driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Confident computer literacy and ability to operate security systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and vigilance.
• Professional appearance and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional security cover across multiple client sites, ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery.
• Conduct regular site patrols and inspections in line with instructions and procedures.
• Monitor premises visually and via CCTV, responding to alarms and incidents.
• Support safety and security of people, property, assets, and premises at all times.
• Record vehicle movements, visitor access, contractor attendance, and site activities.
• Monitor activity and report suspicious behaviour or breaches promptly.
• Ensure access control procedures follow site requirements and security protocols.
• Maintain accurate security records and incident reports.
• Complete duties in line with instructions, company policies, and client needs.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and management plans.
• Provide flexible support across locations and adapt to differing environments.
• Cover annual leave, sickness, and other staffing shortfalls as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working patterns and deployment locations.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain relationships with clients and visitors.
• Present a professional image as an ambassador for OCS and the client.
