Job summary

Aleut Federal, LLC seeks a Mobile Advisor for Job Corps to enforce safety rules, perform patrols, assist visitors and staff, and maintain security logs. You will coordinate with local law enforcement and support center operations while upholding our core values.

The role requires a high school diploma, 6 months security experience (1 year preferred), a valid driver’s license, and possible CDL. CDL and law enforcement experience are preferred; training in organized security is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Enforces all authorized laws, rules, and regulations and conducts patrols to protect life and property.
• Aids and assists visitors, students, and staff; acts as switchboard operator when required.
• Maintains security logs, prepares accident reports, and conducts preliminary investigations.
• Receives complaints and coordinates with local law enforcement; participates in disciplinary processes as needed.
• Assists in reception functions and supports center operations while upholding Aleut Core Values.

Job Corps is the largest nationwide no-cost residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 50 years. With a mission to “attract eligible young people, teach them the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further their education,” the program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Position Summary

The Mobile Advisor reports to the Safety, Security & Transportation Manager. Responsible for enforcing all laws, rules, and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department. Demonstrates ongoing commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of workplace relations and ethics. Information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.

Position Functions

• Demonstrates and abides by Aleut Core Values and operating principles.
• Enforces all authorized laws, rules, and regulations.
• Performs alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
• Provide vehicle transportation support function under the direction of a supervisor in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
• Aids and assists visitors, students, and staff.
• Performs building security and safety checks.
• Receives complaints and makes appropriate preliminary investigations.
• Maintains harmonious relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
• Investigate vehicular accidents at the center.
• Issues visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits.
• Prepares written accident reports and maintains security log.
• Attends required in-service training sessions.
• Participates in the disciplinary process as established at the center, including zero tolerance for violence and drugs.
• Assist in Reception functions and maintain the staff/student/visitor control area.
• Act as switchboard operator as required.
• Adheres to Aleut's Quality Assurance Plan.
• Communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, and adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Cultivates and maintains a climate in the center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent.
• 6 months of related experience. Prefer 1 year of experience in a security department, law enforcement agency, or experience with security duties.
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
• Prefer experience in law enforcement.
• Prefer Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Prefer training with an organized security department.

Additional Requirements

Prefer knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques and law enforcement procedures. Must maintain CPR/FA Certification. Ability to obtain a bus driver's license. Ability to effectively relate to the trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. The position requires the ability to operate office equipment and drive an automobile. In addition, must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

Working Conditions

This position involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Occasionally, the position involves bending, stooping, carrying, running, driving, and the need for flexibility. Applicant must be able to see, hear, and speak.
