Job description

Role

  • Writing letters to request financial support from local companies, trust fund, young farmers, masonic lodges etc based on needs identified within the branch area
  • Monitor the Norfolk Community Foundation website and subscribe to their newsletter and respond to appropriate opportunities to apply for funds
  • Write letters to thank organisations who support us – liaise with newsletter editor to ensure funds are acknowledged publicly where appropriate
  • Provide feedback on the use of funds where required by the terms of the grant (the committee will provide assistance in gathering data to support submission

This role with suit you if you have:

  • Have an interest in presenting a case for funding – this would involve working with the Branch treasurer and committee members to identify areas which might benefit from additional funding and trying to spread our funding stream across the financial year
  • Have good literary skills and computer skills
  • Are non-judgemental and respectful of diverse lifestyles
  • Would like to increase your understanding of MND and it’s impact on families

We would like you to participate in e-learning to understand more about the disease, the work of the Association and specifically the local branch. Members of the Branch committee, the Regional Fundraiser and various members of our National Office staff as signposted, will provide guidance and mentoring as appropriate. The branch can provide examples of letters used in the past.

Time commitment
Time requirement is flexible but might reasonably be about 4 hours per month. The role would involve working from home and contact with the Regional Fundraiser and MND Association Trusts team. To include some evenings and weekends.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We are a membership organisation with over 10,000 members forming a powerful national and local network that provides information and support.
We have over 7,000 active volunteers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and around 170 paid staff, all dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future.
