Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Albany, NY is seeking a Test Engineer to support the NYS Medicaid MMIS project. You will perform integration testing, design test plans, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure system quality.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of distributed testing experience, familiarity with mainframe (COBOL/CICS) and modern web/API testing, and strong communication skills. On-site role with a team focused on mission-critical government systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 2+ years of testing experience in distributed environments; Mainframe and Open Systems experience required.

Responsibilities

• Attend functional requirements definition and project design meetings.
• Provide effort and duration estimates for testing phases.
• Design and develop integration test plans and identify regression test scenarios.
• Execute test cases for complex applications and processes.
• Capture and document integration test results; review with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Test Automation Engineers and team members.
• Participate in project and team meetings and adhere to testing standards.
• Stay updated with industry testing trends and best practices.
• Assist in production support and ad hoc testing activities.
• Perform research activities as assigned.
