Job summary

HSHS St Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking an MLS/MLT for weekend coverage in its O'Fallon, IL facility. Under general supervision, you will perform routine tests across major lab areas and prepare detailed reports for clinical use.

Flow Cytometry and core lab work are preferred, with training provided as needed. The role requires an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (NAACLS-accredited) or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Education qualifications required by NAACLS accredited medical laboratory technician program or equivalent.
• Alternatives include required 60 college credits with chemistry/biology and specific military training.
• Physician Enterprise: degree in Laboratory Sciences required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex tests in the clinical laboratory.
• Create reports of findings for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain validity and accuracy of test results.

Pay Range:$24.31 - $36.47A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.HSHS St. Elizabeth's is seeking an MLS/MLT on Weekends. Under general supervision, performs routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results. Analysis performed may range from routine to complex testing, involving all major areas of the clinical laboratory and creating reports for findings. Flow Cytometry and core lab preferred, but will train.Position Specifics:o Department: Laboratoryo Core Function: Laboratoryo Schedule: Full time, 36 hrs/wk, Hours- 0600-1830, Weekends, Days, 2 Holiday Rotations per year.o Facility: O'Fallon – St. Elizabeth's Hospitalo Location: O'Fallon, ILCompensation that aligns with your experienceEducation QualificationsAssociate's degree required and successful completion of a National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited medical laboratory technician program, ORAssociate’s degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and successful completion of a 50 week US military medical laboratory training course, OR Associates degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and 3 years full time lab experience in an accredited laboratory within the last 10 years.Physician Enterprise: Associates degree in Laboratory Sciences (including chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory) is required.Experience QualificationsExperience in an accredited lab is preferred.Certifications, Licenses and RegistrationsMedical Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician or eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency such as: - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) - American Medical Technologies (AMT) - Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) - or other laboratory certifying agency is required. Certification must be received within 180 days of hire. Colleagues hired prior to January 1, 2017 are exempt from this requirement.
