Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist/MLS with a Bachelor's in Biological Science and appropriate certifications to support Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology and Chemistry sections. The role emphasizes quality results, patient safety and cross-functional collaboration within a high-volume laboratory.

The candidate should meet ASCP/AMT certification requirements and have eligible credentials, with a willingness to work a 4x10 schedule and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science; foreign equivalency acceptable.
• Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT) certification; CLS/MLS certifications.
• ASCP/AMT eligibility criteria and related credentials.
• Recent NAACLS MLS program completion or equivalent experience as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance and corrective actions.
• Manages daily lab operations including sample processing and reporting.
• Interacts with staff, physicians and patients regarding specimens and orders.
• Complies with governmental and accrediting standards (TJC, FDA, CAP, AABB, CMS, CLIA).
