Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to perform high-complexity testing and RT-qPCR with minimal supervision. You will receive, accession, and process specimens, document QC and maintain instruments in a fast-paced clinical support role.

Qualifications include a lab-focused bachelor’s or associate degree and relevant coursework, plus experience or training in molecular techniques. This on-site position offers full-time shifts and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Meets CLIA, CMS, and COLA requirements for high-complexity testing.
Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant lab field with required coursework.
3 months documented lab training in each tested specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a broad range of lab testing without direct supervision, including RT-qPCR and high-complexity tests.
Receive, accession, and process specimens; resolve collection/processing issues.
Execute and document quality control procedures and corrective actions.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
Verify and report accurate results in a timely manner using EMR and instrument software.
Comply with OSHA, CLIA, COLA, and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and accuracy.
Manage reagent and consumable inventory to minimize waste and control costs.
Participate in proficiency testing programs and regulatory readiness activities.
Assist in training new team members and support lab expansion or new technologies.
