Job summary

The MLS Technical Specialist participates in all departmental responsibilities for comprehensive laboratory testing, ensuring patient results are accurate and timely. They oversee the laboratory in the absence of the manager and act as the technical domain expert for departmental issues.

UBMC Bell Hospital seeks a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree, CLIA high complexity testing eligibility, NCCLS-approved training, and ASCP/NCA eligibility within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and meets the CLIA requirements for high complexity testing required.
• ASCP, NCA or eligible (must be completed within 6 months of hire).
• Graduate of a NCCLS approved training program.

This includes ensuring patients laboratory results are accurate, timely and with quality. They are also responsible for overseeing the laboratory department in the absence of the manager/supervisor. They are the technical specialist and the domain expert for issues that arise in the department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree and meets the CLIA requirements for high complexity testing required
• ASCP, NCA or eligible (must be completed within 6 months of hire)
• Graduate of a NCCLS approved training program

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological, Physical, or Chemical
