Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform high complexity testing in immunohematology and provide essential support to hospital transfusion services in Las Vegas, NV. The role demands accuracy in analysis and reporting, with involvement in quality control and validations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required or equivalent education, training and/or experience with certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required (or must receive certification within 12 months).
• Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
