Job summary

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers a non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor and MLS Program Coordinator role in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The 9-month academic appointment will be based on the Corpus Christi campus, with potential summer appointment.

The faculty duties include teaching MLS courses, leading curriculum, and ensuring NAACLS standards while developing clinical affiliations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an appropriate field (e.g., science, Medical Laboratory Science, or business administration).
• Current national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP)CM.
• At least three (3) years of MLS experience, demonstrated leadership experience, and the ability to meet NAACLS qualifications for program directors.
• Demonstrated capacity to teach core Medical Laboratory Science lecture and laboratory courses, with expertise in one or more areas including microbiology, hematology, immunohematology, and immunology/serology.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate MLS lecture and laboratory courses.
• Provide leadership for curriculum development, student learning, and program assessment.
• Oversee accreditation processes and clinical education affiliations.
• Support student recruitment, admissions, and mentoring.
