Job summary

TikTok in San Jose offers an internship focused on ML infrastructure and SRE. You will help define SLOs for online inference, support offline training pipelines, and contribute to capacity planning and performance optimization.

As a CS student, you’ll gain hands-on experience with MLOps platforms, GPU/CPU resource management, and framework deployments under experienced engineers. On-site internship with benefits and housing support for eligible interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Strong Linux, networking and storage fundamentals.
• Proficient in Python/Go/C/C++ or Java.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems or services.
• Effective communication and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive SLOs for online ML inference systems and ensure reliability.
• Ensure reliability of offline ML training pipelines and improve training success.
• Drive capacity planning and resource management for ML workloads and optimize GPU/CPU utilization.
• Lead enablement of new ML frameworks and GPU platforms for large-scale deployment.
• Design, build and maintain MLOps platforms and automation tools (quota management, monitoring, diagnostics, observability).
