Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred;
• A minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred;
• License or certification not required prior to start date. All Commonwealth Charter teachers must either have a license or pass MTELs within their first year.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to help students master content and language objectives.
• Advise teachers on accommodating curriculum for MLL students.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum when necessary.
• Provide coaching to teachers around best practices for working with multilingual leaners.
• Provide inclusion support for classes containing MLL students.
• Work specifically with MLL students during assigned periods of the day.
• Create a safe learning environment for all students by implementing Excel's strategies and best practices with consistency.
• Collaborate with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation.
• Design and implement rigorous assessments that evaluate student mastery of academic standards.
