Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer, Physical AI Systems for its robotics team in Westborough, MA. You will design, train, and deploy ML models enabling autonomous robots to perceive and interact with the physical world.

Responsibilities include developing perception systems, collaborating with software and hardware teams, and deploying models to production in automated fulfillment environments. A strong background in CV, robotics, and Python is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience in ML, AI, robotics, CV, or related field.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Experience deploying ML models into production.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong computer vision and perception systems knowledge.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and training pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices (tests, Git, CI/CD).
• Ability to collaborate with software and hardware teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Robotics/EE.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, evaluate, and deploy ML models for object identification and manipulation.
• Develop CV systems to distinguish boxes, totes, packages, and inventory items.
• Build perception models for robotic grasping and motion planning.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate models into production systems.
• Analyze robot performance data to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop training/evaluation pipelines from deployed platforms.
• Optimize models for low-latency inference on robotic hardware.
• Design experiments to improve manipulation success rates.
• Validate model performance through lab testing and simulation.
• Contribute to next-gen Physical AI systems combining perception, decision, and control.
