Job summary

Handshake is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to power the Network and Handshake AI Marketplace Relevance team. You will build and deploy ML models for search, recommendations, and embeddings across the platform, collaborating with ML engineers, data scientists, PMs, and software engineers to run experiments and productionize solutions.

You will work with large-scale data, focus on fairness and explainability, and help improve marketplace outcomes for millions of job seekers and employers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in ML, data science, software engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience building, evaluating, and deploying ML models in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve ML models for search, recommendations, notifications, user understanding, and embeddings.
• Develop, test, and deploy models and supporting services in production.
• Work with large datasets to create features, train models, and evaluate performance.
• Contribute to retrieval, ranking, personalization, and experimentation systems.
• Monitor production models and help improve quality, reliability, latency, and scalability.
• Partner with product, engineering, and data science to translate business and user needs into ML solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and team planning.
• Use experimentation and marketplace metrics to measure impact of work.
• Contribute to team standards and best practices for model development, evaluation, and deployment.
