Job summary

Evlo AI in New York City is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build, productionize, and operate ML systems across the full development lifecycle—from data pipelines through deployment and monitoring.

The role spans predictive modeling, ranking, NLP, and generative AI on cloud infrastructure, with collaboration across data science, software, and platform teams to turn research into scalable customer services.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in machine learning engineering, applied ML, or related software role with production deployment.
• Strong Python proficiency and hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or similar frameworks.
• Experience building production data pipelines with SQL and distributed processing/orchestration like Spark, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Solid understanding of ML fundamentals: features, models, eval metrics, regularization, error analysis.
• Practical cloud and deployment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, or managed ML services.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/ML/stats/math or related field.
• Bonus: Experience with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector databases, GPU optimization, or MLOps observability platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and evaluate supervised and deep learning models using Python and common ML frameworks.
• Build reliable data and feature pipelines with SQL, Python, Spark, and orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster).
• Deploy and serve models via AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Kubernetes, or similar infrastructure.
• Develop model APIs and inference services using FastAPI, Docker, REST or gRPC with clear latency targets.
• Implement experiment tracking, model versioning, CI/CD, and reproducible training workflows.
• Monitor production models for accuracy, drift, data quality, latency, and resource usage; set up alerts and rollbacks.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research to define metrics and prioritize improvements.
