Job summary

Google in Mountain View is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary ML initiatives, planning requirements, identifying risks, and managing schedules with cross-functional partners.

You will scale, optimize, and deploy high-impact ML models, working with software engineers, ML researchers, data scientists, product managers, and legal experts to manage end-to-end model lifecycles from data pipelines to production deployment, safeguarding users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in program management.
• Experience managing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and shipping technical products.
• Experience managing software releases and deployment infrastructure (e.g., system testing, data pipelines, or launch execution).
• 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
• Experience program managing ML/AI initiatives (e.g., model training, data pipeline engineering, evaluation, and MLOps).
• Experience with ML infrastructure, data pipelines, or model validation to collaborate with engineering teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects at the intersection of user privacy, child safety, content moderation, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders (legal and product teams).

Responsibilities

• Partner with ML engineering, product, and data science teams to develop project plans, track milestones, identify risks, and drive programs to schedule.
• Coordinate and manage technical interdependencies across distinct workstreams (e.g., ensuring data engineering pipelines finish in time to feed model training and evaluation schedules).
• Partner with stakeholders across engineering, product, data science, and legal to navigate priorities, drive alignment, and ensure global regulatory compliance.
• Identify and implement operational process improvements to make ML model training, validation, and deployment cycles more efficient and scalable.
• Communicate program status, timelines, and technical risks clearly to the core team and downstream internal partner teams.
