Job summary

Skechers, the Comfort Technology Company®, is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Data and Analytics team in Southern California. This role focuses on building advanced analytics solutions, ML, and AI to power core data products in production.

You will work end-to-end on model development, deploy pipelines with Data Engineers, monitor drift, and communicate insights to non-technical leaders. A strong background in ML, Python, SQL, and cloud tools is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a professional data science role with proven track record of moving models from research to production.
• 5+ years experience in professional data science role with advanced analytics applications preferred.
• Experience with DSML Automation platforms and MLOps tools.
• Experience with Data Engineering/Cloud tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS SageMaker), GenAI tools (Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Gemini APIs), and cloud-based BI and Analytics technologies.
• Strong communication and presentation skills - ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ML development: Evaluate, implement, and improve machine learning techniques to solve real world problems and aid business decision making.
• Contribute to the full model development lifecycle, from ideation through operation.
• Leverage LLMs and RAG frameworks to enhance data products and automate workflows.
• Write production-grade, scalable code and collaborate with Data Engineers to deploy models.
• Monitor model drift and bias to ensure ethical, accurate AI solutions over time.
• Lead experimental design, A/B testing and causal inference projects to measure impact.
• Translate model outputs into actionable business strategies for leadership.
• Perform ad hoc analysis to uncover insights and trends across platforms.
• Prototype quickly to gather feedback in an agile environment.
• Follow best practices to build scalable BI and analytics solutions and document objectives.
