Job description

The employee will have direct control of mixer machine setup, which determines the quality of bristle mix produced. Constant monitoring of machine operation and bristle quality will determine if the machine setup needs adjustment.

Additional Information

3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 6:15am

Shift Differential: $0.75 per hour

This position is also eligible for a performance-based bonus, subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other valuable items. Such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of staff, employees, and vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for a work visa now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment

Responsibilities:

• Use scanner to scan on and off orders and input accurate data
• Retrieve materials from Mixer MTO area
• Count and divide bristle bundles into loads
• Use basic math to determine how many bundles go in each layout bin
• Layout bristle or filament according to the order of layers on the work order
• Setup, load, and test the mixer machine
• Have the mix checked and approved by the team manager or lead
• Have a brush head sample made by the brushmaking department lead
• Run the machine through the correct number of mix cycles
• Unload the mixer and put bristle or filament into bins
• Constantly monitor the quality of the mix and butt rough
• Remove defective bristle or filament
• Move mix and ticket to the appropriate brushmaking line
• Keep work area clean and conduct final cleaning at the end of each shift
• Maintain accurate metrics such as pounds mixed, downtime, and maintenance logs
• Complete the mixer production sheet
