Job summary

fgf brands is seeking a Team Member - Mixer Operator to accurately weigh ingredients, operate mixers, and ensure batches meet quality standards. You will maintain records, follow safety procedures, and support production teams in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Responsibilities include measuring ingredients, adjusting processes, and documenting parameters while adhering to GMPs and food safety guidelines. The role requires flexibility for varied shifts and physical stamina for long days.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience in a food production setting.
  • Internal candidates must have worked at FGF as a General TM in Production/Sanitation for 6 months or more.
  • External candidates must have mixer experience of 1 year or more.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with ability to spot quality issues.
  • Good communication and basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate manual pump truck/electric walkie and perform daily inspections.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lb and moving between tasks.
  • Willingness to work days, afternoons, nights and weekends as needed.
  • Follows GMPs and food safety procedures.

  • Operate industrial mixers to blend ingredients according to recipes for doughs/batters.
  • Check texture, pH and temperature to meet quality standards.
  • Capable of automated mixing using OFS/San-Casciano systems.
  • Maintain clean, organized workspace and safe handling of materials.
  • Record mixing parameters and deviations in real-time.
  • Perform return-to-stock and manage packaging materials after production runs.
  • Report safety, quality, or equipment issues to leads and leadership.
  • Support batch investigations and resolve inconsistencies.

Job Description

Team Member - Mixer Operator

Summary:

Reporting to the Team Leader and/or Line Leader, the The Mixer/Scaler is responsible for accurately mixing and scaling ingredients to produce batches that consistently meet quality standards and production requirements in a timely and efficient manner. You will support your Team Leader by demonstrating and practicing teamwork every day and respecting all your fellow Team Members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Weigh and measure ingredients per the batch sheet specifications using appropriate equipment, including manual scales or automated scaling systems.
  • Ensure all ingredients comply with established quality standards before use and report any inventory shortages or discrepancies to the leaders.
  • Operate industrial mixers to blend ingredients into doughs or batters, strictly following specified mixing recipes to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Capable of operating the OFS/San-Casciano system for fully automated mixing processes.
  • Check texture, consistency, pH and temperature of mixed products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Uses a variety of tools (scales, thermometers, knives, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner
  • Responsible for adhering to the mixing schedule and communicating any delays to leadership in a timely manner, along with valid reasons.
  • Report any safety, quality, food safety or any equipment malfunctions or issues to the production leaders.
  • Help investigate and resolve batch inconsistencies or quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time records of mixing activities, including ingredients used, critical processing parameters, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Proficient in using RF guns to perform all inventory-related transactions, ensuring compliance with SAP/OMS procedures and protocols
  • Participates in cleaning up responsibilities (must maintain a clean working environment by cleaning the floors and disposing of waste throughout the mixing area).
  • Ensure proper segregation and disposal of food, plastic, and paper waste to support environmental sustainability and compliance with waste management policies.
  • Follows all GMP’s, Food Safety and Health and Safety Procedures as outlined by FGF Brands.
  • Perform return-to-stock activities and return all packaging materials upon completion of production runs and after each changeover.
  • Prevent contamination by practicing proper hygiene and allergen control.
  • Able to perform all the general team member tasks in the plant or any other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery experience is desirable)
  • Internal candidates must have worked at FGF as a General TM in Production/Sanitation for a minimum of 6 months
  • External candidates must have worked as a Mixer for a minimum of 1 year
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a quality issue
  • Good communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate manual pump truck /electric walkie in safe and efficient manner and perform daily inspection.
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
  • Comfortable working in cold, warm, or humid environments, and flexible to work days, afternoons, nights, and weekends as needed.
