Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on team member for a 24/7 dairy operation in New York. The role emphasizes precise batch production, adherence to GMP and food safety standards, and strong attention to detail.

Employees will work rotating shifts with premium for night hours, and opportunities exist within a growing global dairy company. The position requires a high school diploma, 2 years in food manufacturing, and the ability to operate lift trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy preferred.
• Advanced quality/food safety training is a plus.
• Working knowledge of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, HACCP, GMP, etc.).
• Strong math and computer/data entry skills.
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Stage, weigh and record all batch ingredients per SOPs and customer specs.
• Mix and blend wet/dry ingredients according to batch sheet specifications.
• Record ingredient usage in the location ERP system.
• Collect pre-blend and final product samples and perform batch testing; report deviations.
• Follow all allergen protocols and SOPs in detail without deviation.
• Operate tanks, pumps and blend equipment; perform CIP/SIP and routine adjustments.
• Complete batch records and data entry accurately; support audits.

How you will make contributions that matter...

• In accordance with SOP’s and customer’s specifications, stage, weigh and record all batch ingredients.
• Mix and blend wet/dry ingredients in accordance with product mix/batch sheet specifications.
• Record all ingredient usage using location ERP system.
• Collect pre-blend and final product samples as required. Perform all required batch analytical testing. Report any product deviations to the department supervisor.
• Follow all allergen protocols.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
• Operate tanks, pumps and blend operations equipment.
• Perform equipment clean-up, CIP/SIP operations.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments.
• Safe operation of a lift truck.
• Accurately and neatly complete batch records, system data entry and documentation.
• Perform all department environmental controls.
• Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
• Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
• Effective coordination and cooperation with other departments.
• Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
• Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values and Workplace Climate Policy.
• Work together as a team.
• Other duties as required by management.

You are best suited for the role if you…

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
• A working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, QAP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
• Strong math skills.
• Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.
• Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
• Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Successful completion of drug screen andbackground check.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history.
• Good attendance is a must.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
• Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
• Shift flexibility. This is a hands‑on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our blend operators are assigned to a team in support of dairy operations. This can either be rotating, days, swing or night shift and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.

12-Hour Rotating Shift Schedule

This position follows a compressed workweek with alternating 3-day and 4-day workweeks, offering employees extended time off while supporting our 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Shift Premium

Employees assigned to Night Shift receive an additional $1.50 per hour night shift premium.
