Job summary

EGN Consulting & Talent Recruiting in Portland, Oregon seeks a Controls System Engineer with hands-on Mitsubishi Electric automation experience to design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot Mitsubishi-based control systems—from PLCs to servo motion.

This hybrid role requires living or relocating to the Portland area and offers on-site collaboration with a team, full project lifecycle involvement, and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Mitsubishi Electric automation products and solutions.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control system documentation.
• Relocation to Portland, OR or residence in Portland area.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot Mitsubishi-based control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo motion.
• Develop and configure GOT HMIs for operator control and diagnostics.
• Tune and troubleshoot FR series VFDs across industrial processes.
• Implement servo motion control with MELSERVO/MR for precise positioning.
• Integrate Mitsubishi controls with sensors and third-party devices via CC-Link and Ethernet/IP/Modbus.
• Read schematics and I/O lists to support design and commissioning.
• Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to translate requirements into reliable control solutions.
• Help develop standardized programming templates and best practices.
