Job summary

Rainbow Restoration of Sacramento is seeking a skilled Mitigation Technician to join our growing team in Sacramento, CA. You will perform water, fire, and mold mitigation and remediation on residential and commercial properties, extract standing water, and operate drying equipment while documenting progress.

Candidates with IICRC certification are a plus; training will be provided. You must be able to lift 50+ lbs, work independently or in a team, and communicate professionally with owners,

Qualifications

• Prior experience in water damage mitigation, restoration, or related construction/trade preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Perform water, fire, and mold mitigation and remediation services on residential and commercial properties.
• Extract standing water and set up drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and desiccants.
• Conduct moisture readings and document drying progress using industry-standard tools and software.
• Safely remove damaged materials such as drywall, flooring, and insulation as part of the mitigation process.
• Communicate professionally with property owners, adjusters, and project managers throughout the restoration process.
• Maintain, clean, and properly store all mitigation equipment and company vehicles.
• Respond to emergency service calls, including after-hours and weekend assignments as needed.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in water damage mitigation, restoration, or a related construction/trade field preferred
• IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or similar) is a plus but not required — we will train the right candidate
• Ability to operate extraction equipment, air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document job site conditions accurately
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
