Job summary

HoneyDo Services UT is seeking a dependable Mitigation Technician to support water-damage mitigation and structural drying projects, including Category 3 losses, while upholding high safety, workmanship, and clear communication.

This field-based role requires accurate readings, detailed documentation in MICA or Mitigate, and teamwork with project leadership. We offer hands-on training and a path toward industry certifications for committed individuals.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid driver’s license and be able to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to read instructions, enter accurate information in mobile apps, and communicate clearly in person, by phone, and writing.
  • Comfortable working safely with PPE and respirators when needed.
  • Demonstrates dependable attendance, good judgment, and willingness to follow processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform water extraction, demolition, cleaning, decontamination, and structural drying under supervision.
  • Assist with Category 1–3 water-loss projects using appropriate PPE and containment.
  • Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, air filtration devices, extraction equipment, and related tools.
  • Record readings (temperature, humidity, moisture) using psychrometric data and logs.
  • Complete daily dry logs, moisture maps, photos, equipment records, and field updates in company apps (MICA / Mitigate).
  • Follow safety plans, scopes, and supervisor direction; report scope changes.

Job description

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Mitigation Technician who takes pride in protecting people, property, and trust. This field-based role supports water-damage mitigation and structural drying projects, including Category 3 losses, while maintaining a high standard of safety, workmanship, communication, and documentation. Industry certifications are preferred but not required. We are prepared to train the right person who demonstrates strong character, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional growth.

What success looks like

You arrive prepared, follow established procedures, collect accurate readings, maintain clean and safe work areas, communicate clearly, and document each job so project management can confidently support the customer and insurance process.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform water extraction, demolition, cleaning, decontamination, and structural drying work under the direction of project leadership.
  • Assist with Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3 water-loss projects using appropriate personal protective equipment, containment, and cleaning procedures.
  • Set up, monitor, reposition, clean, and maintain air movers, dehumidifiers, air filtration devices, extraction equipment, and related tools.
  • Apply psychrometric principles to support drying decisions, including collecting and recording temperature, relative humidity, grain depression, moisture content, and other required readings.
  • Complete accurate daily dry logs, moisture maps, photographs, equipment records, notes, and field updates in company-approved applications such as MICA (pronounced “Mika”) and/or Mitigate.
  • Follow written scopes, work authorizations, safety plans, and supervisor direction; promptly report conditions that may require a change in scope.
  • Protect customer belongings and occupied spaces; maintain professional, respectful communication with property owners, tenants, adjusters, trade partners, and coworkers.
  • Maintain clean jobsites, vehicles, tools, and equipment; report damaged or missing equipment promptly.
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, and emergency-response rotations as scheduled.
  • Follow company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and disposal requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to reliably report to jobsites and work variable hours during emergency-response assignments.
  • Ability to read instructions, enter accurate information in mobile applications, and communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Ability to work safely while wearing required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when medically cleared and fit-tested.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, lift, carry, and move equipment or materials commonly used in restoration work.
  • Professional conduct, dependable attendance, sound judgment, and willingness to receive coaching and follow established processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in restoration, construction, demolition, janitorial services, maintenance, emergency response, or a related field.
  • IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), or other.
  • Experience documenting mitigation projects in MICA, Mitigate, or comparable field-management software.
  • Working knowledge of psychrometry, moisture measurement, drying chambers, containment, and negative-air setups.
Role Boundaries and Workflow

This technician role is responsible for accurate field execution and documentation. Xactimate is an important part of the company’s estimating and claims workflow; however, estimate preparation and line-item pricing are generally handled by project managers, estimators, project coordinators, or other designated team members.
