Job summary

The 645 CONSERVATION COMMISSION is seeking a Mitigation Project Manager to lead statewide wetland and stream mitigation banking projects. You will coordinate with OCC wetlands program and ODOT, manage MBIs, oversee budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires collaboration with landowners, contractors, and state/federal agencies to meet program goals and deliver ecologically sound mitigation projects with strong maintenance plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resource management, environmental science or related field required.
• At least 1 year of experience managing complex environmental projects required.

Responsibilities

• Identify suitable mitigation bank locations within ODOT priority watersheds.
• Coordinate with landowners to secure property through fee-title or conservation easements.
• Draft project prospectuses and mitigation banking instruments (MBIs).
• Coordinate with US Army Corps of Engineers and Interagency Review Team (IRT).
• Oversee contractors and construction to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop and implement long-term maintenance plans.
• Monitor project success and manage corrective actions as needed.
