Job summary

FirstCarbon Solutions (FCS) is seeking a Mitigation Banking Program Administrator to lead new bank development in California and beyond. The role requires a dynamic leader with 5+ years of experience, capable of building an interdisciplinary team and driving site selection and permit processes.

The position offers remote, hybrid, or in-office options, with nationwide project support and reporting to the Director of Biological and Cultural Resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in land acquisition, real estate brokerage, land management, or sales.
• 3+ years in landowner outreach for mitigation bank projects.
• 3+ years in environmental permitting, functional assessments, or technical report writing for mitigation banks.
• Knowledge of CWA Section 404/401 and ESA requirements and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new mitigation banks (50%), lead and mentor a small team.
• Navigate local, state, and federal permitting processes.
• Identify sites for mitigation bank development and draft early bank approval documents.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure project success.
• Mentor/coaching duties (50%) including recruiting and training staff.
