Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Improvement Specialist to provide product & process knowledge to shop floor staff, and lead lean initiatives. You will train teams, interpret drawings and instructions, and support quality and process audits to sustain line flow.

Key duties include conducting audits, leading kaizen events, developing process sheets, and coordinating with various departments to implement improvements while maintaining safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant business or project management experience.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree is desired but not required.
  • Lean knowledge/experience to apply lean concepts across an entire value stream.

  • Consistent demonstration of independent work, prioritization and influence.
  • Learn LEAN process improvements and apply on shop floor.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Purpose:

Provide product & process knowledge to the manufacturing shop floor employees, team leaders and supervisors. Escalate product or process complications and observed errors to Plant Manager and Manufacturing Liaison MIT. Coordinate efforts to improve methods and processes relative to tools, fixturing, training, process sheets / sequence of events and quality of product. Provide on the spot interpretation of drawings, special instructions, sales orders...etc. to maintain line flow. Coach and train shop floor employees on product and process knowledge. Actively participate in process audits, EoL defect follow up, customer satisfaction issue resolution and First Unit Review activities.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • 80% Reside on Shop floor -> Perform Process/Quality Audit, Training, Data Collection/Capture improvements via ECR, and Process Sheets.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deploy standard operating procedures and process improvements.

  • Utilize LEAN principles and tools to eliminate waste

  • Actively participates in the analysis of production and process issues, recommends solutions to further business goals and works with the appropriate teams in the plant to implement those solutions.

  • Participates in kaizen events and workshops to solve urgent business needs.

  • Develops requirement documents and conducts systems testing, training, and related documentation, as necessary.

  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.

  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance.

  • Develop and maintain strong, positive business relationships with key internal clients, external customers and suppliers to clearly understand their business processes, and the development/articulation of short and long term business objectives.

  • Define the business case for the projects that have been proposed and validate the opportunity, scope and importance of a project.

  • Serve on cross departmental project teams to meet the project objectives within the given time frame, and within budget.
