Boeing is hiring Mission Systems Software Developers for our Defense, Space & Security organization in Daytona Beach, Florida. You will work in our state-of-the-art facility supporting Air Dominance programs, contributing to avionics solutions and flight simulation products.

Requirements

Must have

• We require at least 4 years of professional experience developing software in one or more of the following languages: Ada, C, C#, Java, or Python
• We require at least 3 years of experience working on projects that use multiple software development methodologies
• We prefer a bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical discipline
• We prefer 5 or more years of higher education and/or related professional experience
• We prefer candidates who currently hold, or have held within the past 24 months, the highest level of U.S. security clearance
• We need strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying backgrounds and technical levels
• We prefer experience with embedded real-time software development
• We prefer experience building models and simulation solutions
• We prefer experience developing Operational Flight Program software for aircraft platforms
• We prefer experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• We prefer experience with object‑oriented analysis and design methodologies
• We prefer experience using Agile software development practices
• We prefer familiarity with open architecture frameworks such as Open Mission Systems, Open Communication Standard, and the Universal Command and Control Interface
• We prefer experience creating and documenting software architecture in Cameo or similar model‑based systems engineering tools
• We prefer experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
• We prefer prior experience leading a project or technical team

Responsibilities

• We support software development on agile teams responsible for integrating and implementing solutions onto a platform
• We develop high‑fidelity simulation and environment software, along with toolsets that accelerate the development, testing, and deployment of quality software solutions
• We use analytical problem‑solving to address issues affecting us and our suppliers
• We apply engineering expertise to improve weapon system capabilities for our customers
• We continuously enhance our processes and tools through disciplined engineering practices
• We use engineering principles to perform analysis
• We document engineering practices so they can be replicated, scaled, and improved over time
• We collaborate with program stakeholders and subject matter experts across disciplines such as Operational Analysis, Software Engineering, Mission Systems Hardware, and Flight Simulation
• We provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers
• We contribute across the full software lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, and testing
