Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking engineers for the Air Dominance & Strike team to own distributed mission software—from simulation to live operations and fleet management. You will integrate with Lattice OS, coordinate vehicle fleets, and ensure secure, resilient services in a Linux/Kubernetes environment.

Expect 2–3+ years in C++, Rust, or similar languages, strong networking knowledge, and willingness to travel up to 30%. Applicants should be eligible for a U.S.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS, SE, Math, Physics or related field.
• Ability to diagnose complex networking or routing failures in multi-hop networks.
• Ability to read packet captures with tcpdump/Wireshark.
• Experience with end-to-end testing of unicast and multicast data flows.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, sockets, MTU, TLS/mTLS.
• Experience with NTP and PTP timing protocols.
• CCNA or equivalent exp.
• Comfort working in Linux
• Experience with systemd
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with Git & GitHub
• 2-3+ years of experience using C++, Rust, or equivalent mid-level language
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to test in real world
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Track record of high ownership and bias for action
• Experience building or maintaining distributed systems (message buses, RPC frameworks, or similar)

ABOUT THE TEAM

Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The AD&S Mission Systems Software team builds the distributed infrastructure that connects these vehicles to command and control. We develop the messaging, orchestration, and networking backbone that ties individual vehicles into coordinated, multi‑vehicle operations. Our engineers develop the services that integrate with Lattice OS, coordinate fleets of vehicles in the field, and task and manage mission payloads and effects. We are looking for engineers excited to own from cradle‑to‑grave resilient, distributed mission software that supports the full range of AD&S initiatives: from early concept simulation to live operations and large scale fleet management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.

• Ability to diagnose & root cause arbitrary & complex networking or routing failures in multi hop networks

• Ability to read packet captures and use standard network debugging tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, etc.)

• Experience with end to end testing of both unicast and multicast data flows

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, socket programming, MTU, multicast, TLS/mTLS

• Experience utilizing timing protocols such as NTP and PTP

• CCNA or equivalent exp.

• A high comfort working in a Linux environment

• Experience with systemd

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration

• Experience with Git & GitHub

• 2-3+ years of experience using C++, Rust, or equivalent mid-level language

• Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world

• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

• Track record of high ownership and bias for action

US Salary Range

$166,000 — $220,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
