Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mission Software Engineer for the Imaging Interfaces team. You will keep fielded systems alive, triage issues across the full stack, and serve as a technical representative in customer integrations.

The role spans extending gRPC services, diagnosing time-sync issues on deployed devices, and traveling to support deployments. You will own end-to-end software in a fast-moving environment with high stakes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development with meaningful production ownership.
• Deep proficiency in at least one of C++, TypeScript, or Python, and the ability to work effectively across the stack boundary in a second language.
• Comfort ramping quickly into unfamiliar languages, tools, and deployment systems.
• 3+ years working in Linux-based environments, including hands-on work with bare-metal hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries (networking, services, hardware interaction).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical problems clearly to non-technical audiences, including operators in the field.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own fielded system health and uptime, triage across root causes in code, firmware, network, or hardware.
• Build and extend modular production services that run on edge devices in austere environments.
• Support field operations by diagnosing and resolving issues with deployed hardware and clear field communication.
• Represent the team externally in integrations with other products and teams, both remotely and on-site.
• Maintain end-to-end system understanding across hardware, firmware, networking, and software to optimize interactions.
• Collaborate across firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
• Travel ~25% for field testing and customer integrations.
