Job summary

LMI in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to translate mission needs into practical, scalable software solutions for Soldiers and mission users.

You will develop both frontend and backend features, deploy updates in agile sprints, provide on‑site and remote support, and train users while collaborating with engineers to improve operational capabilities. Requires an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Build modern web apps with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Backend services with Node.js or equivalent.
• Relational DB design and querying.
• Design RESTful APIs for frontends and data sources.
• Containerized deployments (Docker).
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem solving.
• Clear communication with end users and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Soldiers to translate mission needs into technical solutions in SHEPRD.
• Implement rapid updates, enhancements, and fixes to align with objectives.
• Test, deploy, and maintain new features with existing systems.
• Provide hands-on technical support on-site and remotely.
• Conduct training and mentoring for users to maximize use and understanding of the application.
• Participate in agile sprint planning and stand-ups for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to streamline development workflows.
