Job summary

Amazon Leo is recruiting a Mission Operations Engineer on the Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) team in Redmond, WA. You will own the operational success of payload and bus functions at a systems level, coordinating across ground, network, and space systems to ensure peak performance with minimal manual intervention.

You will design operational rehearsals, drive automation for scalable operations, analyze system data, and work with software, hardware and systems engineers.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge in space system design, optical systems, and software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and participate in operational rehearsals.
• Coordinate and participate in launch, early operation, and critical activities.
• Develop concepts for OISL network operation for missions and experiments.
• Analyze system data and identify areas for improvement.
• Drive automation efforts for scalable satellite operations with minimal manual intervention.
• Develop and execute integration vehicle test plans.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and systems engineers.
