Job summary

Rocket Lab, a leading space company, seeks a Mission Manager to oversee customer missions from contract signing to payload integration and launch at North American sites. This role requires strong program management and engineering acumen, plus ability to travel domestically and internationally.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage milestones, and develop ICDs, while representing the company at events and supporting business development with technical input.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace preferred).
• 5+ years of mission management or technical program management experience.
• Hardware integration or project management on launch vehicles or spacecraft.
• Ability to travel to launch pads, customer sites, and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Rocket Lab customer missions with technical, programmatic, and financial milestones.
• Oversee payload integration activities, including fit checks and vehicle interfaces.
• Lead technical milestone reviews with customers (design reviews, test readiness).
• Assist business development with proposals, lead generation, and technical sales input.
• Develop and verify Launch Vehicle to Payload ICDs.
• Maintain constant contact with customers and provide technical support.
• Represent the company at conferences, events, and outreach activities.
• Help Mission Integrators expand their skillsets.
