Job Description

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) seeks to hire a mission manager to support the Earth System Science Pathfinder Program Office (ESSPPO). ESSPPO is a unique program office within the NASA Earth Science Division which executes the Earth Venture Portfolio of Missions, Instruments, Suborbital Investigations, and Continuity Missions. Selections are made by NASA Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters and are cost-capped, and schedule constrained. These restrictions provide a distinctive environment for successful implementation. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that ESD investments successfully deliver the selected baseline science within cost and schedule.
  • Conducting monthly assessments of each assigned project and developing a forward-looking analysis of project path.
  • Integrating financial, technical, risk, and schedule inputs into a succinct assessment for the Program Office, SMD/ESD senior leadership, and with related PIs and Project Managers, including presenting such material to Senior NASA Leadership which can be used to make decisions regarding project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Spaceflight and/or airborne hardware experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing independent assessments of NASA Class C and D spaceflight projects.
  • Ability to independently evaluate project metrics including schedule, cost data, management, risks and mitigations, and liens and threats.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a US person.

This position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence.
