Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) seeks to hire a mission manager to support the Earth System Science Pathfinder Program Office (ESSPPO). ESSPPO is a unique program office within the NASA Earth Science Division which executes the Earth Venture Portfolio of Missions, Instruments, Suborbital Investigations, and Continuity Missions. Selections are made by NASA Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters and are cost-capped and schedule constrained. This position is part-time, supporting the ESSPO in Hampton, Virginia or remotely as part of the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that ESD investments successfully deliver the selected baseline science within cost and schedule.
  • Conducting monthly assessments of each assigned project and developing forward-looking analyses of project progress.
  • Integrating financial, technical, risk, and schedule inputs into a succinct assessment for the Program Office, senior leadership, and related PIs and Project Managers, including presenting such material to Senior NASA Leadership to inform project execution decisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Experience with spaceflight and/or airborne hardware.
  • Experience performing independent assessments of NASA Class C and D spaceflight projects.
  • Ability to evaluate project metrics including schedule, cost, risks, and mitigations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a US person (U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence).
