Job summary

The Institute for Humane Education seeks an inspirational and caring Executive Director to lead strategic direction and scalable mission delivery. The role centers on advancement, donor engagement, financial health, and organizational leadership, with remote work and occasional travel.

The ED will partner with the President and Board to drive major gifts, grants, and diverse revenue streams while guiding staff, budgets, and organizational strategy toward sustainable impact.

Qualifications

• Track record of major gifts and multi-year fundraising strategies.
• Experience managing donor portfolios and reporting on progress.
• Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience.
• Collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary strategic leadership with the President and Board of Directors.
• Serve as chief fundraiser, developing multi-year fundraising plans.
• Partner with governance bodies to support board development and engagement.
• Maintain fiscally responsible policies and assist with annual budgeting.
• Foster organizational culture, cohesion, and mission-aligned teams.
• Recruit, supervise, and support select staff and contractors.
• Oversee marketing, outreach, and external communications.
• Guide program oversight and development of new initiatives.
