Job summary

K2 Space seeks a Mission Engineer for National Security Programs to act as the primary technical interface between K2 Space, customers and partners as we develop mission architectures with advanced payloads.

You will work with Program Managers and engineering teams to define missions (mechanical, software, power, avionics) and ensure alignment to K2 Space capabilities, representing us in customer engagements and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 2+ years in aerospace or space industry.
• Direct spacecraft design, integration, or testing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Define, mature, and negotiate mission concepts and initial payload integration studies.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for system architecture, payload interfaces, spacecraft capabilities and requirements.
• Lead technical discussions and represent K2 Space in customer engagements, reviews, and negotiations.
• Coordinate cross-functional study efforts with vehicle engineering, avionics, software, propulsion, thermal, and AI&T teams.
