Job summary

Samaritan's Purse seeks a Media Relations Coordinator for the Operation Christmas Child team in Boone, NC. The role focuses on raising awareness, pitching stories, and coordinating media interviews to share how God is working through the ministry.

You will manage media assets, monitor social media, and support year-end data requests while coordinating with volunteers and staff to ensure aligned messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with 1–2 years related experience
• Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to make cold calls, write and proofread content
• Experience with managing or using social media platforms, including Instagram, X, and Facebook
• Ability to coach and train volunteers and staff to speak confidently and effectively with media outlets

Responsibilities

• Pitch stories and secure media coverage nationwide for OCC
• Coordinate media interviews for OCC speakers, volunteers, and staff, providing contacts, scheduling details, interview preparation, key resources, and approved messaging
• Monitor and engage across social media channels, responding to comments with Christ-centered care
• Coordinate media assets, deliverables, partner requests, and invoicing while maintaining accurate media databases, lists, reports, budgets, and production requests
• Develop and monitor media coverage reports and support year-end data requests, using insights to strengthen OCC's communications efforts
