Job summary

The Ark in Chicago is seeking a Marketing and Communications Associate to own day‑to‑day communications, draft client and internal messages, and support marketing campaigns. You will coordinate calendars, collaborate with multiple teams, and help produce materials for donor outreach and events.

You’ll bring 1–3 years in communications, strong writing/editing, and experience with CRM tools and design platforms. Flexible hybrid work options and a mission‑driven culture await.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field; nonprofit or mission‑aligned experience preferred.
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
• Experience managing calendars, projects, and multi‑stakeholder workflows.
• Proficiency with an email or CRM platform such as Constant Contact, Salesforce.
• Experience with Microsoft365, project‑management tools such as Monday.com, and design tools such as Canva, and video editing experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Collaborative, proactive, and service‑oriented approach.
• Familiarity with the Jewish community or Jewish customs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Client Communications: Draft and distribute client communications; maintain a client communications calendar; collaborate with Benefits Navigation Specialist and Program Lead to tailor messages.
• Internal Communications: Draft and distribute staff updates and leadership messages; coordinate with HR on communications and policy updates; maintain editorial calendar; update event calendars.
• Marketing and Communications Support: Create and edit content for email, social media, website updates; assist with email campaigns and donor communications; support event materials.
• Project Coordination and Operations: Manage communications requests and timelines; coordinate with designers and vendors; maintain brand standards; monitor campaign performance and suggest improvements.
