Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with 8 years of spacecraft trajectory analysis or MS with 4 years
• Ability to independently devise solutions and solicit inputs from experts
• Expertise in orbital mechanics and spacecraft mission design
• Experience in programming/scripting languages such as Fortran, Python, and/or C++
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with trajectory optimization tool development and scripting
• Develop new features and algorithms
• Refactor architecture for program efficiency
• Integrate with other trajectory software and tools
• General program maintenance and fixes
• Ensure requirements are satisfied by design solutions and support reviews
• Regression testing and documentation
• Provide trajectory products supporting spacecraft mission design and analysis
• Perform trajectory optimization runs for various scenarios
• Develop and test new algorithms for mission performance evaluation
• Travel as required for technical reviews and exchanges
• Provide recommendations for program acceptance of requirements verification, testing, risks and hazards
• Perform other duties as required
