Job summary

Viasat is seeking a MidLevel Systems Design Engineer in Tempe, AZ or Carlsbad, CA to join Government Space and Advanced Technologies. You will translate mission needs into technical requirements and develop algorithms for signal processing and system optimization.

This onsite role requires a Bachelor's in EE or CE, 3–7 years experience, and proficiency in C++, C, MATLAB or Python; Top Secret clearance preferred and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• With a Master's degree or comparable experience, have 3-5 years working on system building, modeling, or algorithm development.
• Proficiency in C++, C, MATLAB, or Python for crafting and running simulations.
• Knowledge of RF systems, processing and waveform concepts.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Active US Secret; Top Secret Clearance preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
• This is an onsite role based in Tempe, AZ or Carlsbad, CA only

Responsibilities

• Translate mission needs into technical requirements and engineering solutions.
• Implement and test algorithms in firmware or software under mentorship from senior team members.
• Participate in integration and system bringup activities.
• Work with analysis and requirements teams to maintain build consistency.
