Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer for a Federal Program in Newington, VA. The role focuses on designing, securing, and maintaining resilient networks for government customers, with emphasis on real-time data sharing, mission-critical availability, and high-stakes environments.

The engineer will lead deployment of routing, switching, and security technologies, ensuring scalable LAN/WAN architectures and Zero Trust implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of network engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Expertise in routing and switching protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP).
• Experience with LAN/WAN architecture, design, and deployment.
• Proficient with network monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds/NetFlow/Wireshark).
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and load balancers.
• Strong background with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI.

Responsibilities

• Design, secure, and maintain resilient network architectures for government customers.
• Architect and optimize LAN/WAN, data center, and cloud networking solutions.
• Lead deployment and lifecycle management of routing and switching technologies (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP).
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI environments.
• Develop and implement network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and Zero Trust.
• Monitor network health and performance using enterprise tools to proactively resolve issues.
