Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer for a direct placement role in Springfield, Virginia. You will design, deploy, and optimize customer network systems, configure devices, and produce documentation to support network strategies with Microsoft and client teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-5 years of network engineering experience, with strong CLI, Layer 2/3, cloud networking (ExpressRoute/Azure VNET), and WAN/Routing expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and CLI environments.
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols for efficiency and resiliency.
• Understanding of cloud networking technologies including ExpressRoute and Azure Virtual Networks.
• Understanding of Layer 1 technologies and cabling.
• Familiarity with WAN and routing technologies (BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN).
• Travel ~50% to locations outside the local area.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, deployment, and implementation of customer network systems and infrastructure.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices and apply patches and configuration changes.
• Develop technical documentation for customer systems and objectives.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
• Collaborate with Microsoft and customer personnel to support network strategies and operations.
