Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Journeyman Network Administrator in Alexandria, VA, working in a hybrid role with travel to remote locations to resolve high-priority network issues. You will support mission-critical IT programs for the USCG, ensuring availability, security, and performance of enterprise network infrastructure.

Responsibilities include daily operations, ticket management, and coordination with Sustainment and field technicians.

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification required.
• Experience as Network Administrator/Engineer in enterprise or federal environments.
• Hands-on configuration changes on core network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience testing and deploying network updates and OS upgrades across distributed nodes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve technical support tickets with the Sustainment team.
• Perform switch and router configurations for optimal routing and secure traffic distribution.
• Schedule and push critical updates and firmware upgrades across network platforms.
• Travel to remote locations on short notice to troubleshoot high-priority issues.
• Maintain documentation, topology maps, and deployment logs.
