Job summary

The Ascendancy Group seeks three Financial Analysts to support NSWG 1 financial management at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, San Diego, CA. The role involves budget planning, execution, and reporting to ensure resources support operational readiness.

You will develop spend plans, monitor obligations, and prepare budget exhibits while communicating with military and civilian stakeholders. A Secret clearance and DoD budgeting experience are required to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance.
• Minimum of four years of specialized DoD budget planning and financial analysis experience.
• Familiarity with current military financial management concepts and budget processes.
• Ability to develop spend plans, monitor obligations and expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual and multiyear spend plans for NSWG 1 budget submissions.
• Monitor budget execution, identify spending trends, shortfalls, and surpluses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze financial data and provide leadership with recommendations to support obligation targets and mission priorities.
• Compile information from Navy, joint, and service level financial systems to prepare recurring and ad hoc budget reports.
• Prepare budget exhibits and supporting documentation using prescribed Department of Defense templates.
• Process and analyze funding requests for fiscal compliance, proper purpose, correct color of money, bona fide need, and appropriate accounting structure.
• Support accurate, legal, and efficient execution of Total Obligation Authority.
• Create clear financial briefings, spreadsheets, reports, and executive level updates.
• Coordinate closely with NSWG 1 staff, department heads, and other stakeholders to resolve budget and execution issues.
• Maintain accurate records and protect classified, sensitive, proprietary, and business sensitive information.
