Job summary

InterImage is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Maryland to support the RAD modernization initiative, focusing on converging authoring and dissemination capabilities into a scalable, highly available platform.

You will design, deploy, automate, and maintain distributed systems across cloud and virtualized environments, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure automation, container deployment, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on AWS cloud, VM management, and hybrid infrastructure experience.
• Strong Docker container tech experience (Swarm, Compose).
• Experience deploying and maintaining distributed web apps.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Proficiency with Terraform for IaC.
• Experience with Ansible playbooks, roles and workflows.
• Strong Git version control and branching know-how.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain mission-critical applications for the RAD platform.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid software delivery.
• Provision and manage cloud and virtual infrastructure using IaC.
• Develop and maintain Terraform and Ansible automation scripts.
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and environments.
• Monitor system health and availability to meet operational requirements.
• Investigate and resolve application, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
• Support containerized deployments using Docker Swarm and Docker Compose.
• Collaborate with developers, admins, and architects on modernization efforts.
• Implement security best practices, patch management, and system hardening.
• Support distributed web apps and microservice architectures.
• Participate in upgrades, release management, and environment maintenance.
• Create and maintain deployment procedures and runbooks.
• Provide on-call support on a rotating pager schedule.
