Job Summary
  • Seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support a modernized, mission-critical operational system
  • This role focuses on providing a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates microservices using cutting-edge DevOps and cloud technologies
  • The DevOps Engineer will design, automate, deploy, and maintain secure infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines while working closely with software engineers, cybersecurity teams, and stakeholders in a classified environment
Primary Responsibilities
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation scripts to provision infrastructure, managed services, and operational tools using technologies such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Installing, patching, hardening, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in compliance with security and accreditation requirements
  • Installing, configuring, and performance tuning containerized and data processing platforms, including Kubernetes, Docker Compose, and Apache NiFi
  • Implementing and managing cloud-native logging, monitoring, and metrics collection tools to support system observability, performance analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Designing, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes using GitLab Runners and Argo CD
  • Supporting deployment and operations within commercial cloud computing platforms, primarily Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Collaborating with development, cybersecurity, and systems engineering teams to ensure platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with mission requirements
  • Participating in system architecture discussions, operational reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of platform and pipeline issues in production environments
Required Qualifications
  • Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with MD Customer Full Scope Polygraph
  • Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and automation scripts
  • Hands‑on experience administering and securing RHEL environments
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and GitOps‑based deployment using Argo CD.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure in AWS environments
  • Understanding of DevOps best practices, automation, and system reliability principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and with stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling
  • Understanding of AWS networking principles to include VPCs, NATs, IP Gateway
  • Develop and manage Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime
  • Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The pay range for this role is:

160,000 - 220,000 USD per year(NBP)
